comparison
AuditBoard and foraudits sit on opposite sides of the audit.
AuditBoard is an internal audit, risk and compliance platform: it equips the internal audit function of a large enterprise to audit that same enterprise, with SOX, risk management and internal control. foraudits is for people who audit third parties — the certification body, the audit firm, the consultant — and the work it solves is collecting documents from the audited client, extracting the data and checking the report against the standard. If you want an AuditBoard alternative for running internal audit, foraudits is not the product. If you audit other people, AuditBoard never was.

Side by side.
| AuditBoard | foraudits | |
|---|---|---|
| Who it is for | The internal audit department of a large enterprise | The auditor or body that audits and certifies third parties |
| The problem it solves | Running the internal audit plan, SOX, risk and internal control | Collecting and reading third-party documents, and checking the report |
| Who gets audited | The organisation itself | The auditor's client |
| Where documents live | Inside the audited organisation | In a portal under the auditor's brand, on the audited client's side |
| Data extraction | Not what the product is for | Central: invoices and documents read with no manual transcription |
| Typical scale | Large enterprise with a dedicated internal audit team | Small teams, from a sole auditor to a body with dozens of auditors |
| Maturity | Large installed base, dominant presence in the North American market | Recent product, few customers, all nameable |
Choose AuditBoard if
- The work is auditing your own organisation and reporting to the audit committee.
- You need SOX, enterprise risk management and internal control in one place.
- You have a dedicated internal audit team and an annual plan to run.
- You value a large installed base and a vendor with a dominant market position.
Choose foraudits if
- You audit third parties and the bottleneck is getting and reading the client's documents, not organising your own.
- You are a small firm or body and per-seat enterprise pricing does not add up.
- You want the audited client to upload everything to a portal carrying your brand instead of sending emails.
- You need data in the European Union and a guarantee that documents never train models.
What people ask.
- Is foraudits a direct alternative to AuditBoard?
- For most of what AuditBoard does, no. AuditBoard serves an organisation's internal audit of itself. foraudits serves people who audit third parties. They overlap in vocabulary — findings, nonconformities, evidence — not in the work.
- What is the best AuditBoard alternative for a small firm?
- It depends which side of the audit you are on. If you run internal audit at a small company, look for a lighter internal audit platform — foraudits is not that and we will not recommend it for that case. If you are a small firm auditing clients, that is exactly what foraudits is for, and the pricing model is not per seat.
- Does foraudits do SOX or enterprise risk management?
- It does neither. There is no SOX module, no enterprise risk register and no internal control management. If that is what you need, AuditBoard and its direct competitors solve it and foraudits does not.
- Is foraudits a certification body?
- No. foraudits is not a certification body and is not accredited to certify. It reviews the report against the standard and returns the analysis; the decision and the signature stay with the competent body.
Do you audit third parties?
If your problem is reaching the client's documents and handing back a defensible report, that is the problem foraudits solves.
