ISO 56001:2024 is the first certifiable innovation management standard and, in Portugal, it replaced NP 4457, with the transition led by ANI and APCER ending on 30 June 2026. Being recent, there is less accumulated precedent and rarer specialist competence, and reports fail on evidence of the innovation policy, the link from the portfolio to the strategy, the governance of decisions from idea to execution, and value realization.
